Liqhobong mine, another place to keep an eye!

Indeed, in the 90’s, this relatively new mine has discovered a potential of 9.5 millions of carats of productions potential.

Feasibility studies and calculations had been made to balance the cost and output of this particular mine and acquired by Firestone Diamonds from Kopara Diamonds in early 2010.

Till then, the mine producitons was steady and raised to 1 millions per annum nowadays.

This mine has been interesting since the high incidence of fancy yellow diamonds and potential for large size diamonds!

This fnally came true on 5th april 2017, when the extracted a 110 carat light yellow diamond which is the largest discovery to date in its Liqhobong mine in Lesotho.

Before this discovery, they yielded 20 large diamonds above 10 carats which include one 37 carat diamond.
